"The property as a whole needs a deep clean inside and out."
Dog hairs on the settee and floor, cobwebs and dust . The kitchen equipment was minimal, lack of oven/ microwave dishes. The bedding and towels were clean. Hot tub not serviced or checked during our stay, should have daily testing. Information about local facilities need updating as the local pubs all shut down.
Hi Ian,
Thank you for the review, although not accurate unfortunately.
I wish you would have mentioned any one of these things when we came to service the hot tub for you, (Not sure why you would say it wasn’t serviced?), this would at least have given us a chance to rectify the supposed issues.
The property is deep cleaned after every set of guests and previous reviews have mentioned how well cleaned the property is.
It’s also been mentioned and I know first hand how well equipped the kitchen is so I’m sorry if you had trouble opening the cupboards?
The one true thing you did say was that the pub has recently shut down, this is unfortunate and out of my control however won’t be the case for long as it’s being bought and turned into a community pub by the great people of Hellifield!
All the best Ian,
Joe

"Absolutely beautiful place to stay, really cozy with the fire on in the lounge."
Lovely shower with great pressure just needs a little tlc. Great walks on the doorstep, owner was on hand promptly with any queries or questions I had. I only have one criticism and that was the maintaining of the Hottub. There was no instructions on how we maintain it throughout our stay as the water does get a little murky.
Overall though I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning in the future

"Lovely property."
Comfortable and clean. Did have to buy things like washing up liquid and there were no bin bags after the only one in use. Parking is on the street outside so you will have to park where you can, perhaps closer to the main road if you are arriving back in the evenings.
Good base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Great location.
Hi Zeeshan, thank you for letting me know these things
Cheers, Joe

"What a lovely holiday cottage."
It is clear that the owner has invested in some high end appliances which makes self catering a good experience. The cottage was warm and cosy, set in a quiet road, we hardly saw anyone. Parking was not an issue. The hot tub was a really lovely bonus and the towels from that never undersold department store were very welcoming. We went to Skipton on the train picking up from Hellifield station. We also found that the location of the cottage was good for all the local attractions. We would certainly use it again.

"Cottage was more spacious than we thought."
Only slight comment was that both bins were full and no instructions as to where and when the bins were to placed for emptying
Otherwise a most enjoyable stay with plenty of things to see and do in the area.

"Had a fabulous 4 night stay at Haw Grove last week, the cottage was amazing !"
The beds were comfy, the kitchen fantastically kitted out ( wanted for nothing), the bathroom fantastic and I didn’t want to get out the shower ! The cottage is very spacious but cosy, definitely bigger than expected, we had a packet of cookies and milk left in the fridge for our arrival as well as sugar, tea, coffee so we could have a brew before we unpacked

"Had a lovely weekend here with my husband and mum and dog."
It was nicely decorated throughout with high end kitchen spec and cooking aids we had everything we needed and nice touches such as dog towels and dressing gowns to use after hot tub. It is close to all areas such as Skipton Malham and Settle which we visited and also nice walks with public footpaths on your doorstep to walk doggie. It was good value for money and would recommend people to stay and it is deceptively larger than pictures show. Parking for big cars can be tricky but we were lucky to get a space near house and turning space at end of road. Can recommend local chippy too.

"The electrics tripped every evening when you put on more than one appliance - put the oven on & any other appliance & it trips."
No smoke alarm or CO detector which are legal requirements. I made Sykes aware of all these factors but they seemed happy & said they were probably difficult to see, whether my concerns were passed onto the owners I am unsure. Please beware this is a risk to life & you should think seriously b4 booking this property. The house is lovely & very modern but Sykes didn’t want to accept any responsibilities they were happy that the fire protection document was in place. The neighbours at No12 were unhappy as we parked outside there house & we ended having to move our car all v petty they think they own the highway
I’m sorry that you’ve had an issue with the electrics, electric issue has been resolved and subsequent guests have not had any issues of this kind. All the necessary fire safety steps have been taken as per the fire protection document from Sykes cottages and fire an CO detectors are in place. Ample free parking on the street with which no other guests have had a problem
